Colin Kaepernick throws first pitch at San Francisco Giants game

Colin Kaepernick's first pitch was better than some actual pitches

Jun 21, 2013; San Francisco, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick prepares to throw the first pitch before the start of the game between the San Francisco Giants and the Miami Marlins at AT&T Park. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY SportsWe've seen some pretty awful first pitches in our day (most recently Lil' Jon), but Colin Kaepernick will never make it on that list.

The 49ers QB once had dreams of becoming a Major League pitcher, and judging by his first pitch, it seems like those might have been pretty realistic dreams.

Kaepernick threw it from the rubber, always a risky move, but then tossed an 87 mph fastball to Sergio Romo, wowing the crowd (and Romo).

Apparently he warmed up a bit in the batting cages beforehand, and it looks like it paid off. His pitch was a bit on the outside corner, but I don't think anyone was complaining.

Not a bad showing by Kaepernick. If the Giants need him, maybe he can throw a few innings before training camp starts up again.
