Former Florida Gators quarterback Jacoby Brissett will transfer to North Carolina State instead of West Virginia, reports Jeremy Fowler of CBS Sports.Blog Photo - College Football 2013: Former Gators QB to transfer to NC State

Brissett will more than likely have to sit out the 2013 season due to NCAA rules, but should have a good chance to be the starter in 2014.

With fellow sophomore Jeff Driskel locking down the starting spot at Florida – something that looks to be sustained for the next two years – Brissett left the team for a chance to play somewhere else.

He toyed with the idea of enrolling at West Virginia (Geno Smith is entering the 2013 NFL Draft), but all signs show that the 6-foot-4, 220-pound dual-threat is headed to Raleigh.

Brissett was one of the top quarterbacks to come from the recruiting class of 2011. He’s got a big arm with much room for improvement, but is extremely mobile and can make big plays with his feet.

Dave Doeren’s offense – the one that helped Jordan Lynch set QB rushing records at Northern Illinois – could be the perfect antidote to get Brissett’s career on the move.

Brissett completed 41-of-74 (55.4 percent) of his passes for 455 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions during his two-year stay in Gainesville, while adding three scores on the ground.
