- Texas State coach Dennis Franchione received a new five-year deal worth $2 million ($400,000 per season) on Friday. The Bobcats went 4-8 in 2012.

- Georgia offered a 6-foot-3, 292-pound offensive lineman on Friday. What makes him so special: He’s 15 years old.

- ESPN has come to a colossal agreement with the SEC to network 45 games and other events for the next 20 years. This is a 10-year extension to the formal deal.

- Kentucky safety Ashely Lowery suffered multiple injuries in a car accident Friday night. It has been reported that he has movement in his arms and legs.

- Ireland could be a host to Penn State and Central Florida for the 2014 season. Notre Dame and Navy played in Dublin last season.
