College Football Afternoon Live Thread. Oklahoma Vs. Kansas, Michigan St. Vs. Ohio St., And More.
Redemption Saturday Is Upon Us
Good day everyone. We have a pretty - dare I say it - radical slate of games this afternoon. Missouri gets a chance to bounce back from their loss last week against #1 Texas, Oklahoma can start to climb back up the ladder against Kansas, Ohio State and Michigan State battle it out for "team most likely to take down the Fighting JoePa's" and of course we'll get to see if USC can break the scoring slide on the FanIQ game pages (it only goes up to 60 points). I have a feeling USC may score 140 points today against Washington St., which I believe is starting my mom at quarterback today because of a litany of injuries to their signalcallers.

All the national games are listed below (all times are EST). We will also have a live thread this evening for the Texas versus Missouri game.

Feel free to chat up today's games right here, or on the linked game pages below. And if there's a non-national game you want to get to, here's the full game page where you can find it.

Texas Tech at Texas A&M, Noon, FSN
Georgia Tech at Clemson, Noon, ESPN
Purdue at Northwestern, Noon, ESPN2
Mississippi at Alabama, 3:30 p.m., CBS

Kansas at Oklahoma, 3:30 p.m., ABC or ESPN2
North Carolina at Virginia, 3:30 p.m., ABC or ESPN2

Stanford at UCLA, 4 p.m., FSN
Michigan at Penn State, 4:30 p.m., ESPN
Oregon State at Washington, 7 p.m., Versus

The Tech vs A&M game has been wild so far.

I would love to see A&M get one of those so called "make a season" victories today.  Tech is good but by no means great, especially on defense.

I bet Curtis Painter is kicking himself for coming back his senior season

Come on down Wake Forest.  You are the next ranked contestant to lose on any given Saturday in college football

You might as well add Shon Greene to the list of stud running backs in the Big 10.  He's absolutely gashed the Wisconsin defense for over 200 yards and 4 scores as the Hawkeyes are laying the smack down on the Badgers

No thanks. Keep this up. I'd like nothing more than to see Penn State lose. They're not the 3rd best team in the country, and they need to lose that #3 ranking ASAP. They haven't beaten ANYONE, and their best win came against Illinois. Even Boise State has had a tougher schedule than Penn State so far.

Looks like Penn State has slept walked thru the first quarter.  Could they possibly be looking ahead to next weeks game against Ohio State?

They've beaten everyone in front of them so far. Those behind them haven't or have just as "bad" schedules (see: Texas Tech). I'm not sure they've the 3rd best team either (not looking too likely right now), but for now they've earned it.

Seeks like the defense has woken up. Now the offense needs to get in gear. If Clark's hurt though, it's officially the No *bleeping* Way game.

Looks like that Navy upset pick over Pittsburgh is really working out well for me

So far, I'm 7-6 straight up for the day. This is why I don't open my mouth with college football most of the time.

Was he really that high of a prospect? Anyways glad to see this happen to Joe Tiller in his final year

Picking the winner isnt my problem.  It's covering the spread and the over/under that I just cant seem to figure out on a consistent basis

He may not of been a high prospect but he was at least a prospect on the board.  Now, he's free falling and finding himself getting benched on a Purdue team that hasnt down much offensively this season

Why did they do that anyway? I mean, I'm not complaining, but if it does lead to a win, it won't help Penn State's "style points."

(I will note that Alabama only beat Ole Miss by 4.)

They handled an Oregon St team that defeated USC

The win over USC doesn't suddenly make Oregon State a good team. They also lost to Stanford. USC always craps the bed against a mediocre conference opponent. That doesn't suddenly make that team an impressive opponent.
