Since that time, in particular this summer, we've endured an onslaught of sporting ugliness from dogfighting to a ref scandal, steroids to cheating, that this seems so long ago.
Well, the two South Florida schools are meeting up again despite some consideration that they end the relationship altogether. This game won't be as compelling as Tennessee/Florida, Washington/Ohio State, or Boston College/Georgia Tech. But there is one reason to appreciate this game more than the Arrogant Bowl: The Return of Ned. Even on crutches he'd have defended his team's end zone better than what we've seen in South Bend or Ann Arbor so far this year.
