Former Georgia running back Isaiah Crowell announced Wednesday that he will be playing football for Alabama State this upcoming fall, reports Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting.Blog Photo - College Football: Isaiah Crowell Will Transfer to Alabama State

Crowell, a sophomore, was dismissed by Mark Richt in late June after an arrest on three weapons charges.

Since Alabama State is an FCS school, and players transferring from an FBS school to an FCS school are immediately eligible, Crowell will not have to wait out a season.

Current NFL second-round draft pick Janoris Jenkins was kicked off the Florida Gators in 2011 and made his move to Alabama State. There, he finished his senior year as a Division II second-team All-American.

Crowell had 850 yards rushing off 185 carries (4.6 ypc) and five touchdowns during his freshman season for the Bulldogs.
