College Football Live Thread: Alabama Vs LSU, Texas Tech Vs Oklahoma State, Penn State Vs Iowa
There's A Great Chance That Two Of The Remaining Undefeateds Could Lose Today
(But one of them probably won't be this guy's team)

Another Saturday, and another great slate of college football goodness.

Today we get to see Alabama get tested big time, as they play at LSU, and the Oklahoma State-Texas Tech game promises to be very offensive. USC hosts Cal in a game that might be the Trojans' last tough game (wihch isn't saying much, because it seems like they only lose the easy ones anyway), and Northwestern looks to knock off Ohio State.

Here's what we've got in Top 25 and/or nationally televised action:
(For the rest of the games, check out the Game Polls Page)

-12:00 EST-
#11 Ohio State @ #24 Northwestern (ESPN - Regional)
Purdue @ #18 Michigan State (Big 10 Network)
#20 Georgia Tech @ #19 North Carolina
Baylor @ #4 Texas
Michigan @ Minnesota (ESPN - Regional)

-12:30-
#13 Georgia @ Kentucky

-2:00-
Utah State @ #10 Boise State
San Diego State @ #15 Brigham Young

-3:30-
Clemson @ #22 Florida State (ABC - Regional)
#1 Alabama @ #16 LSU (CBS)
#6 Oklahoma @ Texas A&M (ABC - Regional)
#3 Penn State @ Iowa (ABC - Regional)

-7:00-
Kansas State @ #14 Missouri
Cincinnati @ #25 West Virginia

-8:00-
Notre Dame @ Boston College (ESPN)
#5 Florida @ Vanderbilt (ESPN2)
#21 California @ #7 USC (ABC - Regional)

I can't believe you waited 10 whole minutes to gloat. That must be a record for you.

Ugh..Michigan up on Minnie 16-0 at the half..No Decker = No offense for the Gophers.

Nice to see Illinois living up to those lofty expectations after last year's Rose Bowl Bid.  I wonder when was the last time someone was in the Rose Bowl one year and NOT in any bowl the next.  Illinois is one half away from more then likely not being bowl eligible

Not that you didn't know this before, but Wisconsin sucks.

Baylor was been doing pretty good against Texas, who could potentially be back up into the BCS title game by the end of the night.

I knew I shouldn't have bought into the Juice Williams passing performance against Missouri.  He's gotten worse as the season has gone on and is looking more and more like a freshmen then a junior

Pitt leads Louisville 17-0 at the half, but LeSean McCoy has 7 rushes for a grand total of 2 yards.

I would take that as a good sign (or at least somewhat good), becuase they won't hold him down all game and then you guys will really pull away.

Somebody needs to tell UNC that they wear Carolina Blue, not Navy blue.

Minnesota in Michigan territory for just the 2nd time all game...

Finally gets some points...still 19-3

It's not good when I picked him the plama TV squares poll for the RB who will get the most rushing yards today.  He's really making headway now, got 2 yards on his first carry of the 2nd half, 8 carries for 4 yards, woohoo!

Sick play by Terrelle Pryor.  Almost sacked 3 times before finding a receiver open in the endzone for a touchdown...  31-10

Just as I say that he gets tackled for a 4 yard loss.  I sure hope he eventually gets something going, this is awful for McCoy right now.

David Gilreath, a WR, has 154 rushing yards for the Badgers today.  If we could ever find a QB we could run a nice little spread.  Of course, we've never really had a good QB.

This Minnie defense just reminds me of the Chiefs D....good plays on first and second down, putting the offense to 3rd and long...then keep giving up the first down for huge drives.

I think that is a prerequisite for the Big Ten.  Illinois has been doing that all year

Never had a good QB?

What about Indianapolis Colt great, Jim Sorgi?

I remember a few years ago on Thanksgiving the Colts were destroying the Lions and he actually got to play.  Never ever thought I'd see him take a significant amount of snaps in a NFL game.

Of course, we've also had the untouchable Brooks Bollinger.

Ask Justin Tuck how untouchable he is..

South Carolina's up 17-7 on Arkansas at half.

The most exciting part (other than Spurrier alternating QBs EVERY OTHER PLAY FOR THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF) is that I'm chillin' in the Press Box with Chris Mortensen.  Maybe he'll need some advice for the Mort Report.  Too bad I don't have a camera.

Looks like the sweatervests are trying to add some style points against Northwester.  Fake punt up by 21 points, Pryor throws a 40 yard touchdown bomb and then is replaced in the next series by Todd Boeckemen, who also tries a 40+ yard touchdown throw.  Ohio State crushing Northwestern

Kentucky takes the lead over Georgia....up 24-21 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter

You're required to start a random rumor and see if Mort reports it.

27-7 Pitt, and yes, now McCoy is finally starting to get something, but 43 yards on the day is awful.

I'll see what I can do.  Gotta catch a break in the action and then find out where he's sitting.....

Michigan 12-0 in the Metrodome...Hopefully at the new TCF Bank Stadium on campus, the Gophers will have better luck..

okay.. here is how the ncaa season will unfold:
1. Alabama beats LSU
2. Florida wins out and beats Alabama in the SEC championship
3. Penn State wins out
4. Texas Tech loses to either Oklahoma or Oklahoma State
5. Florida jumps in the polls after their win vs. number 1 Alabama and plays Penn State in the BCS championship.
6. Florida KILLS Penn Satate.
7. Colt McCoy wins the Heisman with Crabtree and Tebow trailing behind in the votes

Cool, now I don't have to waste anymore time watching these games because the all knowing "sportzrlife" has told me what will happen..

This is really kind of crazy.  Spurrier has alternated two quarterbacks the entire game.  Not every other drive, every other snap.

Fun for me!!

Georgia is losing to Kentucky.  When it comes to real elite teams in the SEC, there's only two.  The conference has definitely been down, at least for itself, this year.

i guess i can agree with that (Florida and Alabama obviously being the dominant teams).  Although Georgia and LSU are still both good teams

What a crazy play in the Bama - LSU game.  John Parker Wilson almost got sacked out of FG range, survived to make a beautiful pass and it almost turned into a TD but the LSU player knocked it out of the recievers hands right before it crossed the goal line.  Ends up being a touchback.

41-7, Pitt absolutely killed Louisville, of course a fumble recovery for a TD and a pick 6 by the Panthers at the end of the game just added to the agony for Louisville.  Oh and good news for Dave Wannstedt, that's 7 wins so far on the year, and he's finally guaranteed to go to a bowl game for the first time in his tenure as Pitt's head coach.

Only one quarter of the way through, but Iowa leading Penn St. 7-3.

13-7 now, PSU winning...

But go Iowa!

Penn State is a fraud. There are D1AA schools with harder schedules.

I realize the joke schedule that is Penn St., but I'm still a Big Ten guy and love JoePa too much to root against him.

They should go undefeated, but still not go into the Championship.

Per Sagarin:

PSU SOS= 65
Alabama = 55
Texas Tech = 64
Oklahoma State = 84

The story of this game is Penn State has had the ball forever, but can't punch it in. 16-7 now, and this won't quiet the haters.

To add to Eric's point....

Whats been the difference between Penn St and Bama's seasons?  Both have one impressive win (Georgia for Bama and Ohio State for PSU) and are going for one more before the season ends (LSU today for Bama and Michigan State for PSU.)  Overall, Bama has played a slightly tougher schedule than Penn State, but they don't have a more impressive resume by any means.

Sorry Kansas maybe in 2 years you will end the streak here in Lincoln.  38-28 Nebraska with roughly 4 minutes left and Huskers on Jayhawks 12

Pat a little happier as Iowa scores the TD.. 16-14 Penn

Defense forces a fumble, and the offense finally gets it in. 23-14 PSU.

Huge, incorrectly called pass interference on Penn State that allows the Iowa drive to continue.

3rd downs are killing Penn State this half.

Sorry, Eric... I was busy eating dinner.

No, but seriously, I don't mean to rub it in, but I'm glad it happened. Now, we have a chance for a competitive NC game.
