College Football Rankings: USC Falls to 10th in AP Poll, 7th in Coaches

I've said it before, I'll say it again -- there's no good reason that the Coaches Poll isn't transparent. LSU received all the first place votes in the AP Poll and all but two in the Coaches' Poll. Those votes went to Ohio State. Yes, despite LSU beating yet another ranked team, two coaches have decided the Buckeyes are the best in the country. What are the odds they're from Big Ten? Sad.

Anyways, the big news of the weekend is the USC Trojans fall. Now ranked 10th in the AP and 7th in the coaches after losing to Stanford.

Other notable movement:

Boston College is now 4th, its highest ranking ever.
New to the polls (AP/Coaches): Illinois 18/19, Kansas 20/20, Florida State 21/21, Auburn 22/25, Tennessee 25/NR.
Too low: Missouri 11, Virginia Tech 12.
Fun with head to head matchups: Georgia 24, Tennessee 25.
Three coaches still voted for Michigan State. How are these people?

3	I just have to say it to start some controversy... Les Miles, where is the SEC now? The Pac-10 (even with a discounted USC) sports three teams in the Top 10! LSU and maybe South Carolina on the flip side? Hmm.... Discuss.

-AP poll got it right on this week.
-Stanford got votes this week even in the coaches poll.
-Not sure about VT, this past week was the first week they have played like a Beamer football team. In two weeks they play BC so I guess that will give us a hint of who will go to a BCS bowl from the ACC.
-Surprised that Hawaii is ranked higher than Kentucky because of how the voters voted last week after the upsets.
-Texas still in the top 25. Psh.

1) Still not sold on VT. Good win for them yesterday, although you never really know what you're getting from Clemson. If they beat BC I'll believe in them.

2)Hawaii is overrated. Boise St was great last year, but Hawaii is not at that level.

3) How dumb do you have to be to vote Georgia over Tennessee this week? Seriously, you should lose your ballot for that.

4) Watch out for the Illini... the only game they should lose for the rest of the year is at Ohio State in the 2nd last week. Who'd think Illinois at Ohio State would have more on the line than Ohio State at Michigan this year?

1	AP Poll looks really good this week aside from the Georgia one spot above Tennessee. The Coaches poll is a joke though with Purdue and Georgia still ranked and USC only dropping to 7 after the week before they dropped Oklahoma to 10 after losing to a team on the road that was only a 22 underdog instead of losing at home to a 41 point underdog at home
