- Steve Spurrier received his 200th career win on Saturday when South Carolina defeated UAB 49-6. He is the fourth-winningest active coach in Division-1A.

- Nebraska coach Bo Pelini left for the hospital at halftime during his team's win over Arkansas State for "precationary tests." He is "doing fine" and is in "pretty good shape."

- Many believe Matt Barkley's Heisman chances are over after his underwhelming performance in the Trojan's loss to Stanford on Saturday.

- The updated AP Poll was released, featuring three SEC teams in the top five and six overall.

- Notre Dame's secondary took another hit as starting safety Jamoris Slaughter suffered a season-ending Achilles injury against Michigan State. Sophomore Matthias Farley is expected to slide into his role.
