College Hoops Saturday Live Thread: No Gus Johnson?
READ MORE:

Anybody else catch the Tim Tebow pep talk this morning on College GameDay? Good stuff, I'll have video up asap.

It won't be quite as fun as last Saturday since CBS made the unfortunate decision to keep Gus Johnson back at the studio, instead of the court in Knoxville which would assure us a last second shot between Ohio State-Tennessee.

Oh well, we'll make due. What else is there to watch until football tomorrow?

12:00 - Notre Dame at #6 Georgetown
12:00 - #21 Villanova at Syracuse
3:30 - USC at #4 UCLA
3:30 - Maryland at #1 North Carolina
3:30 - Ohio State at #7 Tennessee
4:00 - #9 Texas A&M at Kansas State (upset)
4:00 - #16 Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
6:00 - #23 Clemson at #5 Duke
8:00 - #3 Kansas at Missouri (almost upset)
9:00 - Kentucky at Florida (why did they choose this for GameDay?)

Feel free to Q it up here if  you're watching hoops.

Just going to call it now, Clemson will beat Duke (or since its at Cameron, make it close enough that the refs decide they need to take over the last 10 minutes of the game).

I was about to say, no way does Clemson beat Duke at home. You know the Dookies averaging something close to 9 less fouls per game than opponents. Just absurd.

Maryland is a puzzling team to watch. At times it looks like they can beat anyone. But when you scroll through their losses this year, they've clearly played poor enough to lose to Sisters of the Poor Tech.

Tar Heels are playing awful again. Ellington is doing nothing for the second straight game, Hansbrough is having trouble getting the ball near the post, Lawson has had no opportunity to push the fast break, Ginyard is getting called for cheap fouls...blah. Only bright side is Stephenson who is playing well for Thompson who is the only starter that is playing decent.

Finally! The Tar Heels are finally in an offensive groove and not coincidently, it is sparked by Hansbrough and Ellington.

So much for a quiet day of hoops.

The Heels haven't looked good in awhile, but that's still a shocking loss.  They are lucky to not be 1-3 in the ACC right now.

Whatever. I hope the Tar Heels learn something about this game because I guarantee North Carolina will not get passed the Elite Eight again if they keep playing like they have most of this season. Maryland played great, but a four point lead with just a above a minute at home should have been a win.

Also, what's up with a Hansbrough three for the win?

Looks like UCLA is going to lose and in my opinion, UCLA and North Carolina are the two best teams in the country. So what is it? Memphis moves up to one because of how strong of a schedule theirs has been to this point? If so and they do not lose in conference then would it even be possible for Kansas (an undefeated one) to jump Memphis

Oh yeah. I hope Carolina beats the crap out of Maryland at Maryland for them jumping on the UNC logo. Punks. Too bad I have to wait until next year. Ed Davis is going to pound them.

That will be interesting to see what happens with the polls.  In my opinion, I think UNC is the worst out of the "Big Four", which is still nothing to frown at.  UCLA losing at home to USC is a shocker too.

I would imagine Memphis hangs on to #1 until they lose, with Kansas at a close 2nd, but it could depend on how KU performs tonight at Mizzou.  I still think the top 4 are 1a) Memphis 1b) Kansas 3) UCLA, and 4)UNC, but these losses today and UNC's recent play are certainly interesting.

I think Kansas is the #1 team in the country by a noticeable margin. Memphis will be playing nobody leading up to March (yes, Tennessee, I know, but that won't be close) and end up #1 in the end, but Kansas is the best team.

I think that they would have to put Kansas number one because if both teams continued to stay undefeated, I can't see how you can put Kansas in front of Memphis because they would have not lost. Then there would be the argument on how the Big 12 is so much better than the CUSA and that is the only reason why Memphis is still undefeated. An easier way to figure this out and what would make me happy is if Kansas lost tonight. Also dook, yeah need dook to lose as well. I don't ever want to see that name on top of the ACC.

dook is floping and the East vs. West game is on. I think I will switch between the two.

Turns out Clemson can't even hold onto the ball.  A lot of people will try to credit Duke for that, but those were just horrible passes today.  You'll never win on the road with those mistakes.

Did you really go 2-0 on the upset/almost upset picks for a 2nd straight weekend? And to think you don't work for espn.
