Hottest teams coming into post season play.

Wake forest, Creighton, Akron and St John (N.Y) came in as #1 in thier part of the bracket.  Maryland has one 11 striaght coming into the tourne and The Michigan State Spartans have won 12 of 13 after going 2 and 5 to start the season. State has also won 9 straight abd the Big Ten season Title and Confrence Title. Akron is probaly one of the hottest teams in the nation, they have one 16 striaght games coming into the tourne.   Creighton has gone undefeated its past 13 games and won 11 of them.

Teams struggling coming in.

San Francisco and Denver locked up the west coast confrence and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation bids, but they dont have much momentum coming in. USF lost thier final game of the season 5-4 to  Loyola Marymount, but the Gonzaga loss locked up an automatic bid. Denver locked up the MPSF title but seeing thier 10 game win streak snapped coming into the tourne doesnt help with some of the teams that have alot of momentum. In the Big Ten Northwestern won its first 16 games but then lost thier last 4 of 6 games of the season. If Northwestern can get back on track they can go very far in the tourne.

Buffalo and Brown got the bubble bursted. Buffalo had the highest RPI that didnt make the tourne at 32nd. They didnt have any major wins against nonconference oppent or MAC. Overall they did finish 3rd in thier Division. They did'nt have the strengh of schedule to make it. On the another hand Brown was ranked for the first half of the season but ended up lossing 5 of thier 6 last games.

Ohio State was last years runner up they come into the post season with not alot of momentum. They finished the season 9-8-2
Michigan did'nt make it to the tourne last year this year they came in with a 12-5-3 record.

Its not a NCAA tourne without upsets
