Connecticut sophomore quarterback Mike Nebrich announced he will transfer on Wednesday afternoon, reports The Associated Press.
Nebrich was listed as the co-backup with senior Johnny McEntee behind sophomore JUCO transfer Chandler Whitmer, which is likely the reason for the departure.
The Huskies will not suffer much from Nebrich's abrupt decision, as they still have four quarterbacks on the roster and a verbal commitment within the class of 2013.
It is not known where Nebrich intends on finishing his collegiate career, but he held offers from James Madison, Marshall, Miami (Oh.), Ohio, and Towson before pledging to UConn in June of 2010.
