Let me get this out of the way first for all the sensitive Cowboy fans among the group: Dallas is the best team in the NFC. Not invincible, but definitely the best team.
OK, now lets move on. Here's what is really annoying to me as a NFL fan, not rooting for either team, listening to analysis all week.
The general rhetoric was that Dallas and Green Bay were fairly even at full strength, that both teams had a big advantage at home, particularly in January and they would win at home. Most also added that the Packers injuries on defense would play a factor and that a loss tonight was likely.
Fast forward to postgame commentary. Dallas is so far and above the best team in the NFC, Green Bay has many holes, Tony Romo is awesome, chalk the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. You follow me? Wasn't Dallas supposed to win this game by 7 points? Minus critical players on defense, minus some scrub named Brett Farve and the final score is 37-27 and we've dismissed the Pack. Just odd.
Whether it was Aaron Rodgers, who played surprisingly well, or Brett Favre, the outcome was no surprise. Dallas was at home, Green Bay was injured on defense and the passing lanes were open. I remain impressed with the Cowboys, but I'm not ready to write them into the Super Bowl just yet.
Cowboys 37, Packers 27
