Craig Sager Jr. is a chip off the ol' block
Gregg Popovich is notorious for being one of the more difficult interviews in all of sports, but he eased up a bit when he saw that there was someone different behind the microphone during yesterday's playoff game between Popovich's Spurs and the Mavericks.
Craig Sager is sidelined with leukemia, so his son Craig Sager Jr. was there to interview Coach Popovich at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
Popovich avoided his normal 1-word answers and offered a rather touching tribute to the senior Sager, saying that he wished Craig Sr. could be back on the court asking the questions.
Sager Jr. actually did a decent job, and he might have a future in the sideline reporting business someday, but of course we also wish nothing but the best for his father, and hope to see his familiar face and wacky suits on the court as soon as possible.
