George Carlin was a funny, funny man, but I'm not sure he's made me laugh as hard as Cristiano Ronaldo did Friday afternoon in a Euro quarterfinals match versus Germany.
We give guys like Manu Ginobili, Mehmet Okur and Anderson Varejao a hard time about their ridiculous flops in the NBA, but no one can hold a candle to Ronaldo.
I don't watch soccer regularly enough to be able to claim that this is the most egregious flop of all time, but it's without question the worst I've ever seen. Watch as Ronaldo gets barely tripped up by a German defenseman with a light tap to the shin which sets in motion a laughable display of soccer's worst side.
Ah yes, the 5 second delay on pain. I doubt your laughter will pause that long.
Update: It has been accurately noted that this was indeed to worst.flop.ever. How could I forget. Gilardino gets attacked by the vicious grass monster, coincidentally, as the ball rolls out of reach.
A player of his caliber, you would hope, would find a better way to help his team. Seeing the replay in slow motion just made me mad. Complete acting job. More time on your feet trying to score goals would have been a better idea.
I absolutely agree. This was a great great game. Great defense. great goal play. Goals by either team in the last minute and injury time. PK's decide the game... It was a great game.
