Reports from Spain suggest Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will move out of the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. A number of media outlets such as the Daily Star have suggested Real Madrid are preparing to sell their crown jewel at the end of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo has had a tumultuous season at Real Madrid. Earlier in September, the former Manchester United forward admitted he was “sad” with his stay, but once he won the hearts of Real Madrid fans the Portugal international was happy once again.
The prodigal forward has been in phenomenal form for Real Madrid since he was sold by Manchester United in 2009. However, Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to ink an extension contract with Real Madrid.
Now rumors suggest Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has grown tired of Cristiano Ronaldo’s refusal to sign in a new contract. The 28-year-old’s contract with Real Madrid expires in June of 2015.
Real Madrid’s board have expressed desire to commit Cristiano Ronaldo to the club for the long haul, but the Portuguese star sees himself making a move out of the under-achieving club in the future.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently stated that he had no desire to break his contract with Real Madrid, but he hadn’t decided on whether he would like to continue his career with them beyond 2015. Spanish media outlets claim such statements from Cristiano Ronaldo have angered Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid are expected to make a splash in the transfer market this summer. The Bernabeu boss Jose Mourinho could go out without a single trophy this season. The Real Madrid manager has been moaning about depth in his squad, which is why the treasure chest he receives after Cristiano Ronaldo’s sale would be used to bolster his squad.
So far, Paris Saint-Germain have arrived to the scene as the only potential buyers for Cristiano Ronaldo, although Manchester United also possess the desire to bring back their former star.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has a father-son relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo, has declared that he would love to bring back his Portuguese star if he has enough funds to support the transfer.
So, who knows? Perhaps Sir Alex Ferguson has been saving up to buy back Cristiano Ronaldo.
