I was hoping to ignore this lame Cynthia Rodriguez story, but since it gives me the opportunity to make fun of A-Rod, I'm required by law to do it.As you probably know by now, it turns out that not only is A-Rod not clutch at the plate, he's also not clutch at the hospital, or pretty much anywhere where clutchness is needed.
A-Rod's wife Cynthia related a story to the YES Network where she said A-Rod passed out during the birth of their daughter in 2004. It'll actually be airing on TV Wednesday night, so program your TIVO!
But luckily the transcript was already leaked out. And Cynthia answered what we always suspected was true - that A-Rod is a bit of a wimp who collapses under pressure all the time.
As tough and big as he seems, he is real wimpy around doctors or any type of medical situation.And of course there's even more embarrassing information from Cynthia.
I was like not even having a baby; he was the one. The one nurse had a cold cloth on his head. The other nurse had the blood pressure on his arm. And my mother was like rubbing his back. And he is passed out on a couch. And I am there, in the middle of labor. And really, I am not being paid much attention to besides the doctor and a couple of nurses. And he is there moaning. In between pushing, I am going, ‘Honey, are you OK?’ And are you breathing? Are you OK?'A-Rod's admittedly taken a lot of abuse over the years, but it's particularly funny coming from his wife. He's just lucky she didn't talk about his penchant for grounding into double plays with the bases loaded.
By the way, anyone else think she's getting some revenge on A-Rod for cheating on her with the "she-male muscular type?"
