Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns score key victories. [NBA Triple Threat]
Amare Stoudemire Celebrates 26th Birthday With Big Game And A Win [NBA Triple Threat]
NBA Triple Threat: Your daily round-up of last night's action in the Association.

Dallas 124 New York 114 OT
Before the game, Dirk Nowitzki said the Mavericks five game losing streak felt like "two or three months."  He must have used that as motivation because he exploded with a 39 point 15 rebound performance in the Mavericks come from behind overtime victory.  Josh Howard also had a huge game scoring 31 points and pulling in another 14 rebounds himself.  The win didn't come easily for the Mavericks, as they went on a 19-2 run over the final 7 minutes and 26 seconds of regulation.  Zach Randolph had 27 points and 18 rebounds for the Knicks, who didn't hit a field goal in the five minute overtime period.  The Mavericks are still only 3-7, but can at least feel good about this win.

Phoenix 104 Detroit 86
Amare Stoudemire turned 26 and Shaq got ejected but the Suns didn't let either event distract them.  Shaq was ejected with 5:19 left to go in the second quarter for his flagrant two foul on Rodney Stuckey.  According to Shaq, the foul just happened due to the "law of physics."   Stoudemire made up for O'Neal's absence with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Steve Nash, returning from his one game suspension chimed in with his 17 points and 7 assists.  The Pistons just struggled in general, shooting less than 40% from the field while the Suns shot a blazing hot 57%.  The Suns moved to 8-3 and have a Wednesday showdown with the Lakers.  The Pistons are now 7-3 and have a key back to back game stretch with the Cavaliers and Celtics.

Wow... Amare is only 26... the NBA is set up so well to blow up in the next few years, as long as they don't screw it up.

I'm actually surprised he's that old. I thought he was like 24. I mean, he was drafted at age 12, right?
