Dallas Mavericks revoke guard Delonte West’s suspension
Delonte West’s suspension reportedly resulted from an outburst in locker room following the Dallas Mavericks’ 123-104 win over the Houston Rockets, in their preseason debut at the Barclays Center on Monday.
The reason behind Delonte West’s loss of temper wasn’t immediately known. Delonte West scored two points, two assists and one rebound, playing 16 minutes in the game.
Rick Carlisle had indicated Tuesday afternoon that he attended to address the situation with Delonte West, later in the very same day. Deltone West’s suspension never appeared that serious since Rick Carlisle stated he hoped to resolve the situation “quickly” and never ruled the player out of Wednesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.
The Dallas Mavericks guard, Deltone West will now return for team shoot around on Wednesday and isslated to play on Wednesday.

Delonte West, who was being scouted by Rick Carlisle himself, signed a one-year extension with the Dallas Mavericks this summer. Despite Derlonte West’s outbursts and occasionally eccentric behavior (he is diagnosed with bipolar disorder), Rick Carlisle acknowledged that he is delighted by the players’ competitive spirit.
"I love him as a kid. I love the fact that he faces challenges day to day and he meets them head on and he's honest,” Rick Carlisle stated a few weeks ago. “. He and I talk a lot. It's a relationship that isn't always smelling like roses, but we manage to grow because we're talking all the time.”
"It's important that I always hear what he has to say because he's a knowledgeable guy, added Rick Carlisle. “Sometimes he's got to listen to me. Sometimes he's not crazy about it, but that's just the way it is."
Delonte West was previously suspended for 10 games during the 2010-11 season due to an arrest on weapons charges during September 2009. Authorities claim that they recovered three loaded guns and a knife from Delonte West’s possession after he was pulled over on a three-wheel motorcycle for speeding in Upper Marlboro, Md. Later, Delonte West pleaded guilty to the charges and his bipolar disorder was deemed a factor in that incident. Delonte West served eight months of house arrest for the incident.
