Every day I thank God for the Dallas Cowboys. Without them, it'd be so much tougher to blog on a daily basis. Today's bit of news on the Cowboys relates to - surprise - Pacman Jones. As you probably know, Pacman (I'm calling him that again because he's in trouble again) got into a scrape with his own team-issued bodyguard (or bodyguards) at a Dallas hotel on Tuesday night.
First off, Jerry Jones is PISSED. Via Fanhouse:
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is privately "furious" that Pacman has gotten into trouble again.
"Jerry Jones is furious about this," Werder said today on ESPN Radio. "There were reports last week that he's been ordering Pacman Jones to conduct himself in a proper manner. Jerry Jones went through considerable expense to have a four-man security detail attached to Pacman Jones. They rotated in on a schedule. He was not allowed to drive to the facility or anywhere else by himself. He had a driver so that if there was even a traffic offense and they were pulled over it wouldn't be Pacman Jones himself who would be accountable to law enforcement authorities that could lead to a more serious situation."

Of course, I can't imagine he's surprised, right? And while Jerry Jones isn't making his opinions public, guess who is? The Dallas media.
Here's the Fort-Worth Star Telegram's Randy Galloway on what the 'Boys should do:
The way it should be handled:
Jerry Jones steps up this morning, announces at Valley Ranch that he has ordered Pac-Rat to pack up, be gone immediately, never to return.
And if Jerry goes gutless and lets it ride?
Then Jerry is living a lie, because as the full escapades of Call-Me-Adam Jones began to surface Wednesday night ... it became obvious Pacman repeatedly has made a fool of the only man in the NFL who wanted to help him. That's you, Jerry.

Well, Jerry Jones didn't do anything this morning, but it might not matter what he does anyway. This is all up to Goodell, of course. And my guess is Goodell's probably not too pleased about this, especially since he was at the Cowboys practice facility on Wednesday morning, only hours after the incident, praising Pacman for staying out of trouble so far (naturally, Goodell didn't know about the incident yet).
But in all honesty, that makes Goodell look pretty stupid, and I seem to have the impression that Goodell doesn't like looing stupid. So we'll see what happens, but this much is certain - Pacman is on extremely thin ice right now.
UPDATE: Courtesy of Chris Mortensen (so this is probably totally wrong) the Cowboys will take no disciplinary action against Pacman. However, the league is independently looking into the matter and hasn't presented Goodell with anything yet. And frankly, it doesn't matter what the Cowboys do, this isn't their decision. It's Goodell's.
And so it begins: Media wants Cowboys to part ways with Pacman Jones [Fanhouse]
