Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert congratulated the Miami Heat for last night's championship clincher, as owners normally do for one another. One glaring omission was any mention of one LeBron James, the NBA Finals MVP.
As you probably know, James spurned the Cavaliers when he left for Miami with his infamous "Decision," which was the most absurd and ridiculous signing announcement in sports history.
At the time, Gilbert responded with a vicious tirade (in Comic Sans font, no less), lashing out at James, calling him a coward, and promising Cavaliers fans that they would get a championship before LeBron.
Well, that obviously isn't happening now, and I'm sure that's something Gilbert won't forget.
Everyone is talking about LeBron and his amazing performance throughout the entire playoffs, and especially in the Finals, yet Gilbert won't even mention him.
At some point, I think Gilbert and the rest of Cleveland will forgive their native son, even if it takes him coming back to the Cavaliers for that to happen. But for now, that's still where you can find the epicenter of the LeBron hatred.
