Danny Granger continues to live up to his reputation for being injury prone player. On the eve before opening day, Granger will miss the next three weeks due to a strained left calf that occurred some time during the preseason. Calf injuries have the tendency to linger longer than most injuries, so the Pacers don’t want to rush Granger back too early.
The Pacers recently said in a press release, "The length of time is a precautionary measure as the team wants to ensure Granger is physically ready to play in light of missing all but five games last season due to his knee injury. The rehabilitation time is strictly related to the calf injury."
The Pacers have their sites on being totally healthy for the playoffs, so Granger’s injury should not affect them too much. The Pacers advanced far into the playoffs without him last year, so they should be able to do it again this year with the emergence of their new All Star Paul George.
