Its proving to be a disastrous offseason for Daryl Washington, who led the Arizona Cardinals with 134 tackles and nine sacks out of the inside linebacker position last season, to finish with a second-team All-Pro selection. Moreover, it’s only been a month since NFL announced Daryl Washington’s suspension for the first four games of the 2013 season, due to violations of the league’s substance-abuse policy. It’s possible the league could further discipline Daryl Washington for his recent arrest.
With chances of further trouble brewing and impeding distractions, the new Arizona Cardinals head coach and leadership could deal with Daryl Washington’s arrest seriously as well. The former undrafted free agent Daryl Washington, who is entering his fourth season with the Arizona Cardinals, signed a four-year, 32.5 million contract extension with the team last September. Daryl Washington’s offseason activities could play out a major part in whether he gets the $10 million roster bonus he is due next offseason. And if Daryl Washington’s current actions prove to be distortion on field in the 2013 season, the Arizona Cardinals could cut ties with him or force him into restructuring the original contract.
