David Stern Crossed The Line In Jim Rome Interview

6/13/12 in NBA   |   Anthony_Raia   |   37 respect

David Stern has always been concerned about the NBA's image. So concerned that he instituted a dress code to remove the hip hop image from the game. So concerned that he prevented Allen Iverson from releasing a rap album because of vulgar lyrics. So what did today's incident do for the game?

If you missed it NBA commissioner David Stern was Jim Rome's radio show earlier today. When Rome brought up that many people seem to think the NBA Lottery is fixed, Stern countered with "have you stopped beating your wife yet"?

Classless. Distasteful. Rome was asking a serious question after the New Orleans Hornets, who happen to be owned by the league, won the rights to the number one pick in the draft. In fact questions have been brought up about the lottery being fixed since the New York Knicks won the right to draft Patrick Ewing.

Stern crossed the line. This is something you would expect from a Metta World Peace or a J.R. Smith. Not from your commissioner.
