Dazed And Confused

3/13/14 in NBA   |   pigskinfan   |   44 respect

It's another early start today.  I don't mind missing out on the sleep as long as things go as well as they have been.  Sleep is overrated anyway.  It does help to separate the days though.  It must be Thursday because of the short NBA schedule.  Let's giddy-up.

THE NBA  (5-6 ATS/4-7 SU/4-7 TOTALS last night and 17-17/20-14/16-18 so far for the week)
Nothing going on that looks worth my while tonight in The Association.  Here's how the numbers stack up.
Rockets 91 Bucks (+9 1/2, O209) 103
BULLS (+3 1/2, U195) 100 HAWKS 107

Lakers (+16 1/2, O227 1/2) 116
THUNDER 124

COLLEGE HOOPS  (15-9 ATS/16-8 SU/13-11 TOTALS last night and 25-16/26-13/24-17 so far for the week)

BUTTA  (1-0 last night and 2-0 so far for the week)
Ohio St. (-550) over Purdue and Middle Tennessee St. (-330) over Old Dominion - There's no reason for Ohio St. to pound Purdue like the number suggests they will.  The Buckeyes are the better team and will win the game, but they're already in The Madness.  It's just a question of seeding for them now, and that's just not motivation enough for a dominating win.  MTSU is different though.  Without Memphis or Louisville in the conference anymore, C-USA doesn't get a lot of attention.  The Blue Raiders should be in The Madness, but that all might hinge on their performance this weekend.  They'll be highly motivated and focused, and they get an opponent in Old Dominion that played last night.

NOTES:
---Most of these projections might look a little strange.  I think there's a reason for that.  It's the 2nd round of most tournaments, and many of the higher seeds have had a bye for the 1st rounds.  That means the teams they are playing already have a win under their belt, and those wins, in most cases, might skew the stats a bit.

Have a great Thursday.  If you're starting your weekend a bit early tonight, be careful out there.  I'll see you tomorrow.
