DeAngelo Williams: Fantasy Week 13 Spot Start

If you are pushing toward a playoff spot this weekend and are looking for a quality running back to boost your lineup, look no further than Carolina where Jonathan Stewart went down with an ankle injury and will not make the start this weekend.  Insert DeAngelo Williams. a former standout RB in the NFL, he inked a large sum deal a few years back and has since seen his touches and production drastically decrease.

The ability is still there. The knack for breaking the tackle in the open field and sprinting down the sideline escaping pressure is still there. Williams will face a terrible Kansas City Chiefs defense/team, which makes him an even more attractive start.

Williams best season was back in 2008 where he rushed for over 1500 yards and 18 touchdowns, but he hasn't rushed for more than 900 yards in a season since 2009. That is partially due to the added dimension in their backfield with Stewart and also a reshaping of their offensive schemes, but to see such a drastic fall in production is rare at this stage of his career.

Williams will be an attractive waiver wire pickup before Sunday, and if you haven't nabbed him yet -- get your hands on him quick. A talented downhill runner facing a subpar defense makes for a good fantasy decision.
