Blog Photo - DeSean Jackson signs three year deal with Washington RedskinsIn hindsight, it was probably inevitable.  DJax spent two days with the Redskins, socializing with players, meeting with the GM and generally getting a feel for the team.

Late last night, DeSean himself tweeted:

At that point, I thought the deal was most likely for sure, but there was no announcement from the Redskins or from the NFL, only from other reporters.

This morning, however, one of the first things I encountered on my Facebook feed was a "fill in the blank" by the Redskins organization "I am _____ that DeSean Jackson is a Redskin" and I knew it had to be true.

Robert Griffin III is undoubtedly happy.

DeSean is a three time Pro Bowler, released by the Philadelphia Eagles last Friday after only two years of a five year contract.  A reporter stated that Jackson has ties with a gang in his native southern California, a report DeSean has denied repeatedly.  Perhaps it was just an excuse, but the Eagles released him, giving no concrete reason. A personality conflict between Jackson and Eagles Coach, Chip Kelly, has been rumored as the reason, but no reason has been given.

Dan Snyder is not one to let rumors affect his acceptance of players, as we have seen before.

This is a huge move for the Redskins, who had the worst record in the NFC last year.  With no first round draft pick - they traded it in order to get RGIII - the Redskins needed to find another receiver.  Pierre Garcon is reportedly very happy.  In fact, all the Redskins (and their fans) are pretty happy with the move.

The deal is for three years and will net DeSean 26 million, with 16 of that guaranteed.  The NFC just got a whole lot more interesting.

yeah, on the field let's us see what dynamics are at play. Cause, remember last year, we fans were being told one thing, and we saw something completely different on the field?

LOL exactly what I was thinking

Everything I've read so far indicates RGIII is really happy to have him.  Who knows.  I guess we'll see when they actually get on the field.

Depends on if Griffin will give him the ball.

I've been there a few times, and I totally understand. I know how it is to feel that way - but trust me when I say that after a couple of big games from him you'll be feeling quite a bit differently :) (If he sucks, notsomuch.)

Not sure how I feel about this. I know trading goes on, but, my mind has a hard time wrapping itself around the idea of cheering for someone I didn't care for the year before. It isn't rational, but it is how it is.
