The Savior of the old lady ..a living legend on the pitch his magic on the grass been second to none ....
Let me start off by giving u some stats about his illustrious and still growing career
The year was 1991/1992 when Del Piero started playing his football in serie b for Padova , 2 years in padova the wonderkid was bought in at juventus for the 93/94 season he scored 5 goals in his first season for juventus. Del piero at that time had serious competition for spot from non other than the prince Baggio himself.!.
Pinturriccios best year was 97/98 were he became a colosus for juve scoring 21 goals and with his partnership with Zidane had the world at his feet . Unlucky to oose to Real Madrid in the Champions league finals a win would have completed a beautiful year for him.
But disaster struck a tough tackle while playing against Udinese in the following year left Del Piero out of first team action....
The injur was so severe that it took him 3 years to find his form back ...
16 goals in 01/02 and the season after that made al juve fans feel happy about their savior's return ....more was yet to come!
for the next couple of season did not have the bombardment of goals but those goals he scored in te 03/04 season would never be forgotten by any juventus fan. .
The historic win over Real Madrid at turin was one of the most exhilirating moments of this legends football life....
The two seasons under coach Fabio Capello did not go well with Del Piero .. Capello who prefferd two tall target man than an out of box forward gave more appearances to David Trezguet and Ibrahimovic ...still the legend showed class playing as a super sub often being decisive.
The demotion of Juventus to serie B gave Del Piero to reinvent himself... the nature of the second division gave him more room for developement and develope he did!!
If 21 goals in serie B and the next year in serie A showed how much this player was eager to show what he is capable of. Critics have always shouted that his days are well over but yet again Alessandro Del Piero bounces back .
This years champions League group matches are testimony of this legends class  be it the rioting of  arch rivals Real Madrid or the wonderful wonder goal against Zenit, Del piero  is on song ..
