This just in: Appalachian State can play some football. The Mounties rolled to a 49-21 win to grab their 3rd straight D-1AA title.
The biggest hit of the night came on the final touchdown ... which belonged to the Blue Hens. Delaware's Mark Duncan takes a late kickoff (1:15 mark in video) and runs it back for touchdown and in the process throw the football at an officer, hitting him in the shoulder. Hilariously, the cop chases after Duncan. What exactly would he have done?
App State should really consider a jump to the next level. They seem to be able to hold their own. As for the cop incident, pretty funny, just an accident gone wrong.
Having grown up in Delaware, I consider myself a UD fan. I definitely don't condone throwing a football at anyone - especially a law enforcement officer!
HOWEVER, what the heck were they doing allowing all of those fans down on the field before the game was over? If I was a player on Delaware's team, I would have been ticked off, too. Seems like poor crowd management to me.

I watched it a couple of times--I think he was trying to throw it in the stands. Not at the cop--unless I am missing something here.

I don't think he was trying to throw it at anyone. I think he was just throwing the ball, it is a popular end zone routine.
