Wanted to squeeze in a little NFL football chatter today. Turns out there were a couple preseason games last night, highlight by the Pittsburgh Steelers playing the Buffalo Bills in Toronto. Yes, get ready for a debacle along the lines of Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Aside from Trent Edwards looking very, very good for the second straight week, the highlight was the battle to back-up Ben Roethlisberger.
As you know, the Steelers signed Byron Leftwich who has a great deal of experience (eating) and still possesses a great arm. What he does not possess, however, is mobility. None at all.
Dennis Dixon, the rookie from Oregon, appears to have picked up right where he left off last season before getting injured. Dixon scrambled his way to a 47-yard touchdown. Impressive, even considering the Bills 3rd team defense looked about as interested in tackling him as they do about moving to Toronto.
I'm thinking Bills players would rather be in Toronto than Buffalo - then again I live in Toronto and have visited Buffalo. Plus, where do you think they film all those NFL commericals for Bud & Chunky soup! :)
