Most preseason games are worth overlooking. Monday night's game between the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants is not.
Browns QB Derek Anderson had a spectacular 2007 season, far exceeding anyone's expectations. However, he finished the year on a very down note, leaving a few more fans to question whether it may have been a one hit wonder.
Anderson didn't convince anyone he was set for a repeat performance in 2008 last night. The Pro Bowl alternate went 4-for-10 passing for just 20 yards and finished the game in the locker room dazed and confused. He looked like a rookie just trying to figure out the speed of the NFL.
His departure did leave us with some quality Brady Quinn time. Brady was solid, but no need to applaud him for his touchdown pass. As you can see above, that had very little to do with his precision accuracy.
On the other side of the football, Eli Manning looks like the confidence of being a Super Bowl champion has rubbed off this offseason. It was 30-3 Giants before we could even blink. Serious question: Do we dare take a chance on Eli in the earlier rounds of fantasy football?
