According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Derek Fisher has signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the remainder of the NBA season. Fisher played nine games with the Dallas Mavericks this year before formally asking to be released after a knee injury in December and his desire to spend more time with his family.
However, no one around the league believed that this was Fisher's retirement, if anything there were some theories about his unhappiness in Dallas and his desire to leave the team. So, it's no coincidence that the former Thunder point guard has resigned with the very team that he played for last year.
Additionally, now that Eric Maynor has been traded from OKC, Fisher should immediately pick up the back-up point guard duties behind Russell Westbrook. And once again, Fisher goes from a team in Dallas that will not make the playoffs to a team in OKC that may give him his 6th ring.
