Last year, the Nets had a little success (after a rough start) under Jason Kidd, only one season after Kidd was playing point guard for the Knicks.

Derek Fisher, less than a month after playing in the playoffs with the Oklahoma City Thunder, has been hired as the new head coach of the Knicks.

The consensus is that he'll likely be a puppet for team president Phil Jackson, who coached Fisher for years with the Lakers. If that's the case, it could be very easy for Fisher to learn and develop under one of the greatest coaches of all time.

If not, and Jackson just throws him into the fire, it could be a difficult adjustment period for a rookie head coach with a team high on expectations and low on talent.
