Derrick Rose With Torn Meniscus and Marc Gasol With MCL Sprain
Derrick Rose has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his right knee and will require another surgery. Russell Westbrook had a torn meniscus last season and was scheduled to miss 6-8 weeks, but because of unforeseen problems he required another surgery. Rose can come back some time this year, but it looks like it will not be until after the All Star break.
According to Sam Asik of USA Today, Marc Gasol has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain. Fortunately for Gasol, no surgery will be required, but he will be out for an indefinite period of time. However, we know from other players who have had similar injuries, that the recovery time typically takes 6-8 weeks.
