As Doug Thonus of Chicago Bulls Confidential points out, it's about damn time. And this should, at the very least, reduce the amount of time it takes Rose to get back to 100%, compared to other players with similar injuries.
Since Rose got 6-10 months more recovery time than most players who suffer an ACL injury, he shouldn't need to ramp back up to speed like most players do. He should be very close to 100% as soon as he takes the court in an actual game.
If he's not, that might say an awful lot about his determination and preparedness. At this point, the former league MVP has something to prove. Bulls fans will have high expectations for this coming season, and he'll definitely want to live up to them.
