Detroit Lions Lose To The Green Bay Packers, Finish The First 0-16 Winless Season In NFL History
The Lions Have Done The Impossible, Finished 0-16. Congrats To Travis Fisher, Who Avoided A Very Long Walk.

There's really not much to say about it. The Detroit Lions are officially the worst team in NFL history. While some people might make a case for the 1976 Buccaneers, there's really no way to prove that they were worse. They only had a chance to lose 14 games, while the Lions lost 16 in one season, becoming the first and only team in NFL history to do so.

Hopefully, none of you took this for granted. While the Lions fans among us might not be thrilled about it, we got to see history unfold in front of our very eyes. It's not every year that you get to see this happen. In fact, it's a once in a lifetime experience. This team will likely get blown up, and we may never see this sort of awfulness ever again in the NFL. Even though there were many times when it looked like they might sneak away with a win, the Lions made it happen.

This team was so dedicated to losing that cornerback Travis Fisher even gave himself extra motivation to lose.

"If we win, I ain't catching the plane back home," he said with a laugh. "I'll walk back to Detroit."

The Lions came through for Fisher, avoiding what would have been a long, cold walk. Don't forget to hit up the 0-16 celebration party, and be sure to RSVP on facebook. This team is a huge deal, and we need to honor them for that.

Congrats to everyone, even Lions fans. Because this is the sort of failure that you just might never see again.

History will show that if President Bush would have sent a bailout package sooner, Detroit would not have had to suffer as much. But the Lions would still be be 0-16.

As said on the Facebook page:  Although the season did not end as they anticipated, this party is guaranteed to be a WINNER!!! Don't miss out!

Glad to know the players were invited/going to join as well. I figured some might just be left out in the cold..

I know the Fords basically just keep this team as a tax writeoff, but maybe they should sell to the Ilitch Family so the Lions can be relevant again?

2009 Detroit will have to pull up the grass and find the roots for a new beginning ! This year the seeds were washed away along with the loosing season !!

No, but the Lions have been recommended for "Relegation" to the Big Ten Conference...They still may fall behind Penn State and OSU though, so the NCAA might want to relegate them to the Mid-American "West" Conference. Only then, will the Lions make a Bowl game in their near future...

Let's be real honest if FEMA had gotten to the Lions training camp sooner they would have been able to get a win and maybe even some people in the stands.

Thank you Lions for a great season. I didnt have much to look forward to down the stretch but you gave me a reason to keep watching.. But remember you still have 12 games to match the consecutive losses streak set by the Bucceneers yet. Keep it going next year
