Detroit Lions To Retain Front Office, That Of An 0-15 Team
Bill Ford Sr. Is An Idiot, The Worst Owner In Pro Sports History
14

This story might be breaking news for any other sports organization on planet earth, but for the Detroit Lions, it’s not. Owner Bill Ford Sr. has announced that he wants to bring back the front office guru’s of the team, Tom Lewand and Martin Mayhew.

ARE YOU SERIOUS???

This is the front office of a current 0-15 team. Hello!

When asked about a General Manager that would have full control over the team, Ford Sr. said he didn’t like that idea. No, he would certainly prefer to piss off every Lions fan in history and continue to lose at an unprecedented pace.

“Let’s see who’s available and what experience they have and see if they fit in any of our slots.”

Oh great, lets see who’s available. You’re an idiot Mr. Ford!

It’s been reported that Floyd Reese has wanted to come to Detroit ever since Matt Millen was fired. He was the former General Manager of the Tennessee Titans, you know that team that holds a 13-2 record, the best record in the NFL right now? What’s even better is that he was fired because he wanted to take Jay Cutler over Vince Young. We all know how those two turned out.

It’s also been rumored that Scott Pioli of the New England Patriots is willing to listen to an offer from Detroit! Someone with football knowledge would come here! But no, Lewand and Mayhew, the front office of the worst team in sports history, are apparently better.

What’s even better is that Ford Sr. wants them back in their current positions as chief operating officer and general manager.

Unbe-freaking-lieveable.

Then we move onto head coach Rod Marinelli. Certainly a coach who has lost 22 of his past 23 games and is on the verge of the first ever 0-16 season would get the boot. But then again the Lions are run by a complete dumbass. Ford Sr. said about whether to fire Marinelli, “I’m leaving it open.”

I cannot believe the stupidity at the top of this organization.

Ford Sr., Mayhew, and Lewand are going to be the panel that hires another GM type personnel or whatever the hell the Lions want to call it. Awesome. Guess we’ll be taking Michael Crabtree with the first overall pick again…

Bill Ford Jr. is the only one in the Lions organization over the past 45 years to say/do anything smart, and that was to fire Matt Millen. His father was asked about his role in hiring a man for the front office and Ford Sr. said that we would have to see what his availability was. Or do we take Matt Stafford at number one?

This team will never ever be any good as long as Bill Ford Sr. is running the show. Yes folks, it’s a show. It’s definitely not a professional football team and it’s far from one. You might think 0-16 is rock bottom, but it won’t be. All Ford Sr. cares about is making money, not football. And that will never change.

Here’s the under/over for the amount of televised Lion’s home games next year, 0.5. That’s right, 0.5. Who knows if the opener will sellout and why in the world would the Thanksgiving Day game be sold out after another 0-11 start?

Ford Sr. will be lucky to see half that stadium full next year. I hope he starts losing money, maybe then he will wake up and pass the team on to someone else. It sounds heartless to wish for him to pass away, but for the worst organization in sports history, it’s the only way. We can only hope he falls and hits his head, somehow giving him the needed wisdom to let his son take over or sell the team before then.

I’m done. I’ll be rooting for the Chiefs or Dolphins next year. Tyler Thigpen is the man. Bill Ford Sr. is crazy lunatic and worthless sports owner. If you can even call him that.

Mitch Albom said it best to Lions' fans,

"Merry freaking Christmas."

At least the Lions have clinched home field advantage for the rest of the season.

Donald T. Sterling would like to argue that point.

You were waiting for Wirtz to die so you could finally talk about Ford, weren't you?

too soon...?

The Lions will be awful until the Ford family sells the team...they can't even look forward to 2009 because they still play the Pack, Vikes, and Bears six times...at 2008 rates, that's already six losses. The personel just isn't there, average players, at best , cover the entire roster..the poor bastard chosen with the #1 pick is in for a beating.

If the Lions didn't have Barry Sanders for all those years we would be without a winning record since the 80's that is how bad it is in Detroit. I had hoped for an 0-16 season just so maybe the Ford's would wake up and see how badly we want a winning team to cheer for and hire somebody who can fix this mess, but it just looks like they are going to do more of the same which is NOTHING. Like Rootman said above as much as I would never actually wish someone to die I feel that is the only way the Lions will ever be respectable again!!! I miss Wayne Fontes!!LOL.

Ford is a moron. Him wanting to keep the front office doesn't shock me. What shocks me is that people are actually willingly still working for him.

He's the only person who would hire them.

Personally, I would rather spend my days asking, "would you like fries with that?" than work for that backwards organization.
