Dec 29, 2013; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz looks on during the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings at Mall of America Field at H.H.H. Metrodome. Mandatory Credit: Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY SportsAfter 5 seasons as the Lions' head coach, Jim Schwartz had a 29-51 record, for only a .363 winning percentage.

Apparently the Lions front office decided that enough was enough, firing Schwartz approximately 20 hours after their season officially ended.

Schwartz's tenure was marked mostly by failure, with only one playoff appearance (a first round loss) in 5 seasons.

Schwartz is the latest victim of Black Monday, and we'll keep you up-to-date if any other coaches are fired today.

With the Bears decimated by injuries and the Packers without Aaron Rodgers for half the season, the Lions still found a way to finish 3rd in the NFC North.  Lions had no choice but to fire Schwartz

Schwartz will be missed. Not by the Lions or their fans but by everyone else who couldn't wait to see what he would screw up next.
