It hasn't exactly been a great year so far for the New Orleans Saints. They've already lost a few headscratchers, are currently dead last in the NFC South at 3-4, and they face a pretty desperate team in the San Diego Chargers in London this weekend. They also lost Reggie Bush for a period of time last weekend because a torn meniscus. He's expected to be down from 2-4 weeks after having surgery this week.
Now while Bush is a pretty key ingredient to the Saints offense, at least they can turn to Deuce McAllister while Bush is down, right?
Uh, no.
It's being reported that Deuce McAllister is one of six to 10 guys in the NFL who has tested positive for a weight-loss diuretic that contains steroids. So far, only McAllister and Will "Gettin Jiggy With It" Smith of the Saints have been named.
The NFL hasn't commented yet on this test, but if it's indeed true, that means McAllister will get suspended for 4 games. There may be even be some question if he can play on Sunday in London.
Obviously, this is exactly what the Saints need. To be without their two primary running back right when the going gets tough. I can't even tell you who backs up these guys, which is not a good sign.
Might as well just start making your offseason tee times now, Drew Brees.
