The Dallas Mavericks, after losing the media-dubbed "Dwight Howard sweepstakes" and striking out with other notable free agents, expressed interest in a reunion with former Maverick point guard, Devin Harris. You might remember Harris playing for the Mavs earlier in his career before they shipped him to the then New Jersey Nets in exchange for Jason Kidd.

However, since the trade, Harris has never been able to regain any semblance of his game he once had in Dallas.

A reunion was inevitable, as the sides actually agreed to a deal earlier in the month, but it hit a snag when Harris was forced to undergo surgery - and they delayed the contract negotiations. Today it became official as Harris now returns to Dallas where the fans were sad to see him leave back in 2006. He made a Finals trip with the team when they lost to the Heat when Dwyane Wade had his breakout party averaging 35 point per game and bringing the Heat back from down 0-2.

Dirk Nowitzki tweeted his excitement about a reunion with his former teammate earlier in the month, taking a subtle shot at Dwight Howard - claiming he was happy to have DH join in him Dallas - which most people reading assumed was Dwight. The deal is for 3 years and worth $9 million. Got to be happy for Harris - after a tumultuous run following that original trade out of Dallas, he's finally back where it all began.
