Did we mention there are a few football games to watch tomorrow?

Seismic Saturday or Separation Saturday ... call it what you will, I'm just calling it pure bliss.

I apologize for the over exuberance in highlighting college football this weekend, but it is only the best weekend of college football in over a decade. Hopefully those still interested in baseball will forgive me. 7 ranked teams face off against one another and it really should be 8 (Clemson 26th). Lloyd Carr demands you watch!

For those of you fortunate enough to be attending one of the marquee games - enjoy! Otherwise, I'll be here to guide you through the action with a Gameday Picks recap in the morning, game threads, mid afternoon and even final score updates.

Rest up this evening and be sure the remote has full batteries. Here's the viewing guide:

12:00 ET

Michigan State at Pittsburgh - ESPN2 Reg (sorry if I'm a bit chippy until around 3:30)
BYU at Boston College - ESPN2 Reg
Iowa State at Iowa - ESPN
Syracuse at Illinois - just kidding, please don't watch this game

3:30 - (2 TV's highlight recommended, not that I'd do that or anything)
Michigan at Notre Dame - NBC
Miami (FL) at Louisville - ABC
LSU at Auburn - CBS
Oklahoma at Oregon - ABC

5:30
Texas Tech at TCU - OLN

7:45
Clemson at Florida State - ESPN (Bowden Bowl)

8:00
Florida at Tennessee - CBS
Nebraska at USC

Have a fine Friday evening! I'll be back late morning tomorrow ...

I'll be watching Todd ... the money spent on GamePlan will be worth it. I'll record the game in hopes of getting a screenshot.

Good luck tomorrow, what's the status of Drew Tate. A good friend of mine (Danner) is little concerned about that game. Your thoughts?

Tate will play.  He's practiced all week and the coaching staff is finally comfortable with him playing.  He could have played last week, but the staff wanted to make sure he'd be ready for this week.  One Brent Curvey hit though could spell trouble...that guys pretty good.  Overall I like our chances.  ISU is one heck of a good team when they play up to their potential, which they haven't yet this year, but almost surely will against the Hawkeyes.  Danny Mac isn't the best coach in the world...far from it, but he is when he plays the Hawks.  Look for the Iowa front four to completely dominate the ISU rushing game but Meyer to Blythe will be a common sight all day keeping the Clones in the game.  If Tate plays a full game, which he should, the Iowa Offense will be fine.

The difference maker in this game will be Iowa Linebacker Mike Klinkenborg.  His father passed away from a heart attack on Sunday but he's expected to play.  He's the type of guy that puts all of his emotions into his game and I fear for the health of Stevie Hicks.  Klinks is going to be on a mission tomorrow as will the rest of the team.  Iowa has a long history of overcoming deaths like this and using it as motivation to put up dominating wins.  Not like we needed any more motivation.

The only bad thing about being at the stadium for one of these games is missing the rest on t.v.  I'm currently trying to map out the quickest route to the nearest bar to catch the 3:30 games.  Great day for College Football.
