Can Ochocinco Make It Off Revis Island? Can The Cowboys Finally Win A Playoff Game? [NFL Playoffs Live Thread]

1/9/10 in NFL   |   Pat   |   5229 respect

Jets CB Darrelle Revis has made a habit of shutting down elite WR's all over the league. Whether it's Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Andre Johnson or anyone else, no one is getting anything done against Revis... including Chad Ochocinco last week. This afternoon, he'll try to do a little better, in a game that actually matters.

64% of you picked the Bengals to win, despite the fact they got blown out by the Jets 37-0 last week. The game starts at 4:30 pm EST, on NBC.

In the late game, the Cowboys will attempt to pick up their first playoff win since 1996. They'll host the Eagles, who they've already beaten twice this year, including a shutout last week.

64% also picked the Cowboys, so we'll see if the Eagles can change their ways this year, or if the Cowboys will finally get that elusive January meaningful win. The game starts at 8:00 pm EST, and it's also on NBC.

If you're watching, this is your place to talk about the games all night. Don't forget to make your picks on our NFL Pick 'Em Page, and as always, enjoy the game!

Rackers has been a great kicker the past few years, the only two times I watched him kick yesterday though (passed out in the middle) he was looking to absolutely smoke the ball like he was 65 yards out -- almost missing a 23-yarder early and absolutely shanking that 34-yarder. If he relaxes a bit, maybe he'll be alright.

They have 2 winning seasons with Bob Bratkowski at offensive coordinator.  He's been here 9 years.  Mike Brown will likely find a reason to keep him.  This year was good year for the Bengals but the passing game was not existent.  Fans around here are fed up with the conservative play calling.  It's time for a shake up but Mikey Boy doesn't listen to the fans.  He thinks he can handle it on his own.

I worry about the Jets against the Chargers because they are
completely confident and have nothing to lose next week.

As for Cinnci, in 2003 they hired Marv and drafted Carson.
Sanchez used to hold Palmer's jock back in high school,
and so as someone in the thread had mentioned, this is
a case of the student taking the teacher to school with a playoff performance
landing in the L column. Throw 85 into the mix (who still has yet to be a factor
in the NFL) and you  have a franchise that is in desperate need of a qualified GM.
Toss in zero playoff victories since 1990?, or was it mid 80's??

This franchise is a pretender

i think cinn has the heart and a good coach,i feel tha tyes some of the other coaching staff(oc-dc) didnt do their homework since last week......i saw no difference in their play calling or set ups.....their Gm DOES need to step up and do a better job.i know the players must be frustrated as hell, like my giants were... we shall see what cinn org does  :)

many rookie QB's have played exceptionally  the jets defense looked amazing from late season on..the qb and coach have done a great job for 1st timers and the team looked great....i was surprised..though cinn would play a good close game but they were shut down...sigh

That's because Bob Bratkowski doesn't implement the passing game anymore.  I don't know if it's lack of faith in the o-line or because management has told him to be conservative but his game plan sucks.  Bengals fans want him gone!  They've wanted him gone for years now but Mikey Boy won't fire him.  The Bengals had a hard time selling games out this year.  If they keep Bob Bratkowski I am sure it will be even harder next year.

DeSean Jackson is really going to keep trying to talk smack? Hooray, you stripped a guy who tried making a dumb move by lateraling it after an INT.

2 Catches, for 9 yards while losing by 27 points. You're really great at this sh*t talking, and showing up the next day thing.

Vick to Maclin?? Wow.

TD Cowboys, but as far as FF goes, why couldn't that have been Witten and not Phillips for the TD?

1/9/10   |   Chief_aka_James   |   3292 respect

So what's with the "Omaha" call by Romo? I heard it all season by Eli and Collinsworth even made note of it during an entire game midway through the season, and now Romo is using it too?

1/9/10   |   Chief_aka_James   |   3292 respect

Jason Witten has a fantastic first drive..by fantastic I mean he single-handedly lost 3-7 points for his team.

What's cool is now Ocho Cinco will have more time to make up
different skits and costumes to show us all how good he is when

I wonder if he will go into the Hall of fame as Ocho Cinco or retro Johnson?

Chad gets his first catch in 7+ quarters against Revis, and Benson goes 47 yards to make it a ballgame again.

To see this rookie QB/1st year coach winning playoff games, it's pretty special at a few points, how we've been able to see so many just these past two years is great.

I don't think I've ever seen a kicker/punter be so angry, and was actually in the right to yell at his teammates on that one.

I've got the Bengals winning this one.  They'll load the box to stop the Jets running game, with Hall/Joseph they can leave them on an island and they'll force mistakes from Sanchez.  Offensively, the Bengals will control the clock with Benson and do just enough to win this one, 17-10.
