Do You Miss the NBA?
The NBA created for itself some intriguing headlines heading into this season, of course, highlighted by the Dwight Howard move to the Los Angeles Lakers. He joins Steve Nash as well in LaLa Land as the Lakers formed an intriguing lineup to go alongside Kobe Bryant with a deeper bench (Antawn Jamison, Jodie Meeks, Jordan Hill).
The NBA Champion Miami Heat added Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen to improve their perimeter shooting while they maintained their heavy Big 3 of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. This team is scary good.
The Celtics lost Ray Allen, however, they gained Jeff Green (back from heart surgery a year ago), Jason Terry and Courtney Lee. They will rival the bigs of the East and make a run for the title once again.
The Brooklyn Nets made a huge splash trading for Joe Johnson, re-signing Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace while filling out their roster with some nice depth (Josh Childress, Reggie Evans). The East looks a lot tougher this season.
The Los Angeles Clippers improved as well, keeping their core intact while adding Lamar Odom, Jamal Crawford and Grant Hill to bolster a bench that will be close to the top of the league.
The Utah Jazz added Mo Williams to run the point for them, which could turn their fortunes around after struggling to find an identity with Devin Harris - they have a scary group of big guys (Al Jefferson, Paul Milsap, Enes Kanter).
If this doesn't have you pumped, then you need to get your pulse checked. The NBA is only a short month away from opening, and these are only a few of the headlines coming into the season, but it will be one to remember. Especially following a season where interest was sky high.
