Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsDoc Rivers is working hard to give the Los Angeles Clippers an identity as a championship contending team, and his latest move is to cover up all of the Los Angeles Lakers championship banners.

The Clippers and Lakers share Staples Center, so for all of Clippers home games, there will be oversized banners of (from left to right)  Jamal Crawford, Blake Griffin, J.J. Redick, DeAndre Jordan, Jared Dudley, Chris Paul and Matt Barnes.

Lakers fans were obviously not happy with the new decor, but as a Clippers player, it has to be so much better to look up and not see constant reminders of how far they have to go to be historically great.

Also, in general, teams want to feel "at home" for their home games. Clippers fans do an amazing job of supporting their team, but there's no doubt it still felt like the Lakers' home.
