I can't believe I'm actually writing this, but then I remember I'm writing about LA, where if you aren't wealthy you're basically a second It seems the Dodgers have instituted a new rule this year that bars people from going down to the box seats to get autographs if they don't have tickets for that section.
Apparently the rich idiots who sit in the box seats had been complaining about "the crowded conditions pregame at their seats and on the concourse from fans trying to get close to the players."
Really? I'm a Giants fan, so I've been watching the Dodgers and Giants square off pretty much forever. And one thing is perpetually true about Dodgers games. No one who has extremely expensive seats at Dodgers Stadium EVER shows up on time for the game. And on top of that, they leave in the 7th inning. LA may have the worst wealthy fans anywhere on earth. The Dodgers' true fans are the ones who don't sit right in the box seats.
If that isn't bad enough, the Dodgers are basically broadcasting this elitist attitude to whole the stadium. They have a guard standing at the entrance to their field box seats almost four hours before every game and they also have it roped off.
Man, how about sign that says Beat It Serfs as well?
Considering how the primary audience that seeks autographs before games is kids, I'd have to say the Dodgers are - how do I put this politely - complete and total jackasses. I'd complain more, but then again, I'm a Giants fan. Anything that gets Dodgers fans firebombing Chavez Ravine is fine with me.
