Donald Driver hooks up kid who had cleat snatched away
The little fellow appeared on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, and declared that amends have been made. Stephen Wagner, the wronged 12-year-old in the now-infamous cleat-snatching video, has been awarded a trove of autographed Packers gear, including cleats, a jersey, and a baseball bat.
Apparently the baseball bat is for next time the kid has to fight for sports memorabilia!
An animated gif of the incident can be seen to the left. We see Driver tossing the shoe into the crowd at the end of the Donald Driver Celebrity Softball Game, a benefit for homeless families. We see the young Mr. Wagner catching the shoe, then having it snatched away from him by a middle age woman.
She's been called worse on the internet in the last couple of days.
Driver encouraged all us internet trolls to stop harassing the cleat-snatching woman. "Let's remember the woman who grabbed the cleat from Stephen is human," Driver said via Twitter. We all make mistakes. Stephen is happy and that's what matters most!
Driver also tweeted a photo of the young man meeting him in person to collect his autographed Packer loot.
