Don't Stop Me Now

I don't care what they say.  They're wrong.  It's the 1st round of the tournament.  You can't call something a "round" unless all teams participating, or remaining, have played, but I digest.  The point is we've only made it through the 1st half of this round, and it's already been incredible and shocking.  And yes, I did have New Mexico St. and Harvard on my bracket.

It's that 5/12 thing.  In case you didn't know, for every year since they went to a 64-team format, at least one 12-seed has beaten a 5-seed.  Last year, it happened 3 times.  So far this year, it's happened twice with #5 VCU taking on #12 Stephen F. Austin tomorrow.  Food for thought.

COLLEGE HOOPS  (9-7 ATS/10-5 SU/5-11 TOTALS yesterday and 35-29/36-24/31-33 so far for the week)

BUTTA  (no play last night and 2-2 so far for the week)
1.  New Mexico (-2 1/2) over Stanford - Let's keep this simple.  New Mexico is flat out, no questions asked, better than Stanford.  Even though they're the favorite here, this number shows no respect for the Lobos.
2.  Baylor (-185) over Nebraska - Baylor put on a very successful surge to even get here.  They were given up for dead along about mid-February, but they just put their heads down and got it done.  I suppose there is a possibility that the Bears could create a problem for themselves in this game if they relax and are a little too satisfied with just making it into The Dance, but I don't think that will happen.  Baylor knows it needs to win to justify themselves.  Nebraska has a lot of justification to do themselves.  This team shouldn't be here, and I think, deep down, they know it.

I don't have anything I'm ready to commit to just yet, but it sure looks like the Hawks could be a side to look at tonight.  Atlanta has appeared to have righted their ship, and the Pelicans have had a really hard time of it on the road, especially since the break.  I also think the TOTAL in the Spurs/KINGS matchup might be vulnerable to the OVER, but I think I'm just going to wait till I see how my college games go.  I might be feeling a bit more adventurous if both those games do well for me.
