Cris Carter doesn't usually mince words when he does analysis for ESPN. He often is quite harsh on players, and occasionally tries to capitalize on shock value by going a bit over the top when criticizing players.
In his pre-Super Bowl analysis, he referred to the Seahawks' receivers as "appetizers,
" since he believed they didn't have a true #1 receiver.
Carter also told Baldwin and the Seahawks receivers to Google him, as if they'd even need to Google a Hall of Fame WR.
Baldwin played along, and definitely had some words for Carter after the game.
"My man that said that we were appetizers, right, he told me to Google him. And I did that. I saw that he was a Hall of Famer, which like I said, I respect what he did on the football field."But I also saw two conference championship appearances, none of which he won. And I didn't see any Super Bowl appearances. All that stuff came to me in Google, and I would love for him to come to me ... I would love to show him the Super Bowl ring. If he doesn't want to come and see it personally, tell him he can Google it."
Touché, Mr. Baldwin. Touché.
