Now, we know who will be opposite of them on December 7 -- the Duke Blue Devils.

Yes, the Duke Blue Devils. In football.

Duke locked up the ACC Coastal division with a 24-22 victory over rival North Carolina, giving David Cutcliffe's team its eighth straight win and 10th win over the season.

As you would probably suspect, that's the most wins in a single season in the school's history.

Before we discuss the ACC title game though, let's give credit where it's due. Cutcliffe should be the coach of the year in college football. Winning 10 games at Duke is simply a massive achievement and Cutcliffe deserves all the credit in the world for completely turning this program around.

So, yes, it's true -- Duke is the biggest threat to Florida State's chances to play for the BCS national championship. Those aren't words that anyone could have predicted before this season kicked off.

But the Blue Devils have made play after play after play to put themselves in this position. They beat Virginia Tech on the road and knocked off Miami at home on the road to 10-2, and found ways to win in close games the past two weeks against Wake Forest and North Carolina.

While all of that is well and good, the question is whether or not they can do the unthinkable and slay the giant that is Florida State next week.

On paper, this looks like a game that the Seminoles should win by 30+ points. And they may wind up doing just that.

However, Duke has found ways all season to overcome deficits and find ways to win games. Wide receiver Jamison Crowder is one of the more underrated playmakers in the entire country and always seems to make the right play at the right time to give this team a boost. Also, the Blue Devil defense consistently forces mistakes from opposing offenses which obviously helps the cause.

When all is said and done, Florida State may walk out of Charlotte with the ACC championship trophy.

But, don't count out Duke just yet. People have been doing it all year, and time and time again, the Blue Devils have made them look silly.
