The new general manager of the Toronto Raptors, Massai Ujiri, has already fired the vice president of basketball operations, Ed Stefanski, however, Ujiri has chosen to stick with current head coach Dwane Casey.
Casey will now be returning for his third season with the Toronto Raptors. In Casey’s first season, the Raptors won 23 games and in his second season they won 34 games. The trade for Rudy Gay mid-season this past year, paid dividends for the Raptors on offense, however, defensively, they slid a little in the department.
If Casey can get the Raptors back on defense and if Ujiri is somehow able to trade away Andrea Bargnani’s contract, the Raptors could be a surprising team in the east and return from their long hiatus away from the playoffs.
